New Texaco Station Howard Johnson's New Mexico map from the tourist restaurant
It looks like it just came out of the corner Texaco filling station Map Rack. Never used but has slight spine discoloration. Full size folded and a 1967 edition printed by the H.M. Gousha Company, a subsidiary of The Times Mirror Company. Promoting to "Discover America by Car". No Interstate 25 in Northern New Mexico yet and Interstate 40 was still showing construction areas of non-completion. Folded front shows the mountains and the Herefords grazing in the pasture. The folded back is an advertisement for the Howard Johnson's Motor Lodges and announcing Howard Johnson's now takes the Texaco Credit Charge Card. Open front is of course the state of New Mexico with the surrounding states borders and the open back shows a big map of the 48-states and a city map of Santa Fe and vicinity and the Lincoln National Forest Region. Measures 18" x 26" opened up.
